Meet Kevin – A Special Pup Looking for a Special Home

Kevin is an adorable 7/8 month old puppy with a sweet, loving personality who is searching for the right family to give him the happy future he deserves.

Kevin was diagnosed with a condition called Hypertrophic Osteodystrophy (HOD). This developed after an infection he had as a baby that affected his bones. HOD can be painful and is currently being managed with medication to keep him comfortable. The good news is that once Kevin reaches full maturity, around 14 months old, he will most likely outgrow this condition and go on to live a happy, normal life. In the rare event that he does not outgrow it, occasional flare-ups can typically be managed with pain medication.

Kevin is also currently being treated for whipworm, which is a simple 3-part deworming process. During treatment, he would need a separate potty area if there are other pets in the home.

Despite everything he has been through, Kevin remains a friendly, affectionate boy who loves people and would do well with another dog. In fact, Kevin would love to have another dog in the home as a companion to play with and help build his confidence. He is still a puppy, so he will need continued training, patience, and guidance as he grows.

Because of his condition and puppy energy, Kevin is looking for a home with no small children.
