New York 2.0 occupies the southwestern corner of Connecticut, directly along the New York State line and Long Island Sound. The region is one of Connecticut's most affluent and densely developed areas, but it is far more varied than that description suggests, with waterfront communities, historic villages, large estates, nature preserves, working farms, arts institutions and some of the state's most important cultural attractions. Its proximity to New York City is a major part of its identity, with Metro-North, I-95 and the Merritt Parkway making the region feel closely connected to the city while still retaining a distinctly Connecticut character.
