Remember our little pups?! Dottie and Herschel are starting to think about meeting new people to officially call a home their own. We could go on in detail what a difference these two are now from the beginning, but we’ll just say whatever they went through in their past is evident and someone who is wanting to adopt these dogs will need to understand it will take more than one meet and greet to gain their trust. They went from avoiding eye contact, shaking, growling.. truly terrified. We couldn’t even put our hands on Dottie and now she jumps on our laps and gives kisses.
Dottie has been spayed and is now UTD on her vaccinations. She has a negative 4DX and has recovered well from her surgery. Herschel is scheduled to be neutered next week.
We have gone back and forth with keeping them together, separating them… wanting to do what is best for them. Herschel is much more attached to Dottie and tends to take away a lot of attention from her. Dottie is accepting of it and doesn’t seem to bother her however we’re working on that to teach Herschel they both get the same attention. They play very well together, are clearly bonded and hope the right person will show up often for meet and greets, have patience with them and make a routine to allow these dogs to trust another person.
We had so many people reach out when we first picked them up as strays. We’re hoping for the same outcome now that we feel they’re ready to meet new people.
