North Central East Connecticut is the area northeast and east of Hartford, stretching from the Hartford suburbs into smaller, more rural communities toward the Massachusetts border. I-84: The main east–west highway through Manchester, Vernon, Tolland and Willington; connects Hartford with eastern Connecticut and Massachusetts.
I-384: Runs from East Hartford/Manchester east toward Bolton and the Route 6 corridor.
I-291: Connects the Hartford area with Windsor/South Windsor and I-91.
I-91: The major North /South highway along the western edge of the region, serving East Windsor and Enfield and continuing toward Springfield, MA.
